This past Saturday, the 22nd, was a special day! We celebrated Bill’s birthday! We had all of our parents, most of our siblings, & most of our nieces & our nephew at our home to celebrate. It was such a wonderful time. We definitely need to do that more often. Pizza, veggies, fruit, cake, ice cream, basketball, & just hanging out enjoying everyone’s company was our Saturday evening. It was so fun having everyone there & watching the littles play together.
Most probably don’t remember, but the 22nd of September is special for our adoption too. A year ago on Saturday we mailed our application to Faith! We can’t believe it’s already been a whole year since we got things started, but yet at the same time it feels as if things have been in slow motion. I was thinking about August & how I was having a hard time with the wait. I think it’s because with our adoption of Samuel we had our referral at the beginning of August 2 years ago. We knew our baby & saw his sweet face. We had baby showers & started planning & decorating his room. In my mind we were going to start getting the baby’s room together this fall because with Japan, we won’t have much time from referral to travel. I wanted to have most of it done this fall, so we would be ready in the spring for when that call came. You never know when things will change with adoption! So, we will wait a little longer. I don’t know if I could look at a finished baby room, with no baby to go in it for an extended period of time. Pray with us that more birth mothers choose the program with our agency in Japan.

Heather , It was a good, good day. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with everyone. As for the adoption, we will pray that you all will hear soon that your baby is on the way.
